Personalising the fight for sight

Kenneth Scott-Brown (Abertay), Anita Simmers (Glasgow Caledonian), Julie Harris (st. Andrews), Caroline MacEwan (Ninewells Hospital and Univ Dundee), Mhairi Thurston (Abertay), Alan Suttie (Fife Society for the Blind)…and others. Funded by Scottish Crucible.

In this project we aim to develop a research program to deliver visual rehabilitation via low cost computing devices.  The project has been set up by Ken Scott-Brown to bring together academics, clinicians and visual disability advocates, to create a foundation for developing the kinds of computer-based tools that the visually disabled and their health professionals will really want.  This is a pump-priming project that will develop animated storyboards for subsequent development.

We have a conference paper published on this topic: Tapology-accepted
