I am a PhD student working under the supervision of Professor Julie Harris. The area of research is perception of motion in depth (MID).

Human perception of MID is informed by both monocular and binocular cues, with two binocular mechanisms being identified to explain it. Previous research shows that stimuli used to isolate each mechanism have uncovered differences in the levels of sensitivity of each mechanism to changes in stimuli, potentially suiting each one to a different purpose.

My aim is to shape understanding of binocular mechanisms of perception of MID by identifying the essential features of each individually, as well as examining possible similarities (in terms of limitations and strengths) between perception of lateral motion and perception of motion in depth.
