Andy MacKenzie and Sarune Savickaite represented the lab at the “Across the Universe” event on the 30th June. Members of the public of all ages were invited to join an informative afternoon exploring the future of the University of St. Andrews, looking at sustainability, technology, science and space exploration. The School of Psychology and Neuroscience offered demonstrations on aspects such as ‘cognitive flexibility’ and social memory. Members of the vision lab demonstrated how we can measure visual behaviour during every day activities such as driving. As well as learning about the science of vision and driving, members of the public, including children, could take part in a fun time trial challenge where they could drive around a track and try and get the fastest time of the event.
